Drowning in the Search

The thirst in my eyes won’t fade away,
What can I do? You don’t show the way.
Though I plead, my heart won’t bend
The leash of my mind won’t hold or mend.

I’ve drifted into a tangled haze,
Like one gone mad, lost in a daze.
In search of You, I slowly drown,
And drop the keys that calm me down.

Exhausted, hopeless, I curse my name,
Then suddenly, I see Your flame.
Within myself, You gently gleam
A waking truth, a living dream.

My search dissolves into my soul,
The storm of questions finds its role.
Now that truth has touched my chest,
I hold the world in warm embrace.

A well was always deep inside,
Yet for two drops, I nearly died.
Now carrying You in every breath,
I wander free, in joy, in depth.

At last, I sleep in peace.
At last, I sleep in peace.

(Too close to be lost
Too far to be found).
